![]() Some people dislike the way piezo tweeters sound, but that's because they probably haven't heard the OEM versions, they may have not heard them with an actual/proper crossover network, and probably haven't heard a pair that have had the "upgrades" done to them, which makes a HUGE improvement in they way these beauties sound. These were used in many decent sounding systems such as Dahlquist, as the super tweeter in their 5 way system. ![]() Then- with the electrical stimulus applied, the crystal 'flexes", actually, it expands and contracts, and this drives the 'diaphragm" internally, which is then horn loaded to raise efficiency. The Piezo tweeters utilize a crystal internally, which is fed the electrical signal. This appears as a small capacitor to an amplifier, so the cool thing is you don't HAVE to use a crossover network, and they don't have much effect on total impedance when utilized in a system. The reason for that is- they have a top end response of around 40Khz.ya- forty.Ī simple way to know how "fast" a speaker actually is- is to simply compare it's top end frequency capability. Sooo, if you want a "fast" tweeter, these reign supreme. ![]() If you aren't familiar with these, this pair is unique as compared to conventional moving coil tweeters. Up for grabs is this really nice, virtually never even ran PAIR of the Motorola Piezo Electric/ Rochelle salt crystal tweeters.I might be preaching to the choir for many of you but. ![]()
